They are REISSUING THE SWEET VALLEY HIGH SERIES!
I repeat, they are REISSUING all the adventures of Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield.
I was OB-sessed with SVH when I was but a wee one, and read the first, oh, 50 books or so before I moved on to more sophisticated reads (which, as I recall, was, like, Danielle Steel).
I wanted a lavaliere. I wanted Lila Fowler's clothes and money. I was on Team Todd. I wanted to go to the Dairy Burger. I still giggle thinking about Bruce's license plate. I thought Francine Pascal was on par with Jane Austen or Emily Bronte, if I'd known who they were at the time. I looked forward to the "super editions" or "super thrillers" where the twins went on adventures. I always had a crush on Guy the sensitive keyboardist. I thought a Fiat Spider was the coolest.car.ever.
I shouldn't be this excited, but I am. I still have all those novels tucked away in the safety of my parent's attic, unable to part with a single one. I just might have to read Double Love again, when it's reissued...
And, my word, I had forgotten about all that fabu cover art...
(I just giggled myself silly over the Sweet Valley High wikipedia entry. Hee.)
C'mon, I can't be the only one...

Ah, Sweet Valley.
I liked some of the later "Super Specials" where there were evil twins that looked just like Jessica and Elizabeth and were just SO over the top with soapy drama that they were, frankly, amazing. I don't have many of my SVHs left, but I still have those. *sigh*
LOL! I totally remember All Night Long being the first SVH I read. I was disappointed by the lack of sex! You can't title a book All Night Long and not have sex in it!
I'm not sure about re-issuing them without updating them, though.
They are partially updating them...for example, Elizabeth has an "anonymous blog" instead of a gossip column in the paper, for example...
I LOVED the Super Specials too! Hee!
Several of us at the library just had a big squealy, reminiscing moment about these books...
I do wonder what the teens of today will think of them, though...
